Aims

With population of Karachi well over 1.8 million, there are over 8,00,000, a large number of them are children, who are in need of special care. With a handful of NGO's and government schools looking after the special need of these children, majority of them cannot avail the services offered at these centers, main hindrance being poverty, lack of education, having too many children and living in far flung areas of the city.

Developmental delays in children can result form pre and post-natal factors and condition during developmental period. With lack of education, poor health care and very high birth rate in our country, a large number of children are effected with varying degrees of delays retardation, severest being-total dependence, which requires complete care.

ACELP is working towards providing services to the children and families who need assistance in the care of their children and create awareness in the community.

We have been able to complete the first three phases of construction with donation form people concerned with the welfare of special children which includes education and administrative unit, diagnostics unit and the recently completed, in-door gymnasium and occupational therapy unit. We now need the construction of a vocational training unit and expansion of class rooms on the first floor of the institute.
